3D Ceramic Print / Farewell

I have to admit that I am extremely sad that this is my last blog post for the course.

As we were selected to join with Sydney, Marissa, and Shayla in a group, it took us a couple tries to come up with our object. We first had ideas to create a robot from a concept of Shayla's, although we ended up going with the idea of another twisted object of hers to use.

Of course we added added the gem texture I created to an object similar to the one above. We had to play around with creating the object in order to make it work. We ended placing the textured panel into a triangle which we doubled up and then twisted to skew the object in a similar way to Shayla's design.

When it came to actually printing the object, it blew my mind. The clay printer was extremely impressive itself along with the process of printing and the success it had. Our design printing fairly well although I wish we'd have thought about the sharp corners so there wouldn't have been any error. the texture came through in a very cool way that I was very happy with. I was extremely satisfied with the process and how successful every groups' work turned out. This final print was the absolute best way to finish off an incredible year.

Thank you Bryan for the most incredible class. I would say this is the best "screw it I'll just take this class because it sounds cool" experience ever. Being completely honest this was my favourite class this semester and my fave instructor as well... no big deal. I'm excited to use the techniques and skills I learnt in this class to use in the future. Thanks for all the knowledge and just opening my mind in general to this crazy impressive field of work. I'll seriously be missing his class next semester.
Thanks for everything Bryan.
