Hollow Form Concept Generation
Below I have featured the 10 concepts I have came up with for my hollow form object.
1. Initials using the taper and trim tools.
2. Triangles in a triangular shape tapered towards eacheachotherother
3. Object designed with one side being geometric and jagged, the other being organic and rounded. Looking at the shape it does not look like the most sturdy sample.
4. Liquorice looking object by twisting a series of polygons
5. Waved vase using the bend, and taper tool.
6. One of the first pieces I did in class made by twisting a triangle. Structure would possibly be an issue with this concept.
7. My personal favourite, I was inspired by a jewelry box and made a box that looked like jewels. Using the loft command.
8. This was an interesting object for me although I think now that I definitely would need to connect the pieces together for this concept. Not my best work.
9. Although this piece is neat, after hearing your lecture of the ability to fail and the angle of failure, this design would surely fail as it has many tight corners and angles. Using multiple shapes of polygons and the lift command.
10. This is one of my more interesting concepts although it doesn't really show up well on the rendering because of the its three sides. This used the loft command.
All in all, this assignment was fun to play around with the tools that were introduced last week. I had a challenge but also an interesting time trying to create some pieces that would in fact be a successful and interesting to look at and hold.
